whenever i go to my hi res version of the game and go to the character select screen you can only see the top left corner of the screen. does anyone know how to fix it?

You can try with a different hires-mugen. You can find it here: http://randomselect.i-xcell.com/
And you have to use the double res 4, check it in the Mugen.CFG file (data).
