eh eh friend...unfortunately char making is not my competence (for now), i never tried to do that.
The few things i know, there are different ways to make a char, well i think that if you want to create your own original char, you'll need to draw it one image at time, and i think with paint. For someone draw a char is the easy step and program it is the hard one, while for others is vice-versa. Well if you want to create a char editing existing sprites, instead, i think you'll need a program like as photoshop, paint shop pro, or gimp. Anyway, fighter factory will be useful when we'll have to put all the char images together and put the position (x,y) in the game for each image (alternative for fighter factory are mee e mcm). I don't know much more about making chars, so we'll have need a strong help.
SlayerGatsu, Nobun, sirius_78, Ice King and others experts: help us!!! :o

after that you can create the sff, I suggest MCM (excellent for newbies..) insert the PCX images you crated... they HAVE TO HAVE the same pallette for the SFF to work properly.
...
sorry my tutorial is in IT no in E... so it would be useless to point you to it...
