I'm using WinMugen cuz I have Win XP (makes sense, right?) But whenever I click PLAY, the DOS screen comes up but then another window pops up saying:

16 Bit MS-DOS Subsystem

C:\PROGRA~1\MUGEN\mugen.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS & Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'close' to terminate the application.

Am I doing something wrong? Instructions I've failed to follow?

it's because you arent' using a win mugen (it's not avaliable from mugenation since it's illigal)
