well as a stege creator i can only say that it lacks what you already know it misses :P
for the rain, i would hate you doing strange things so i'll give you a tip, there is a random position controller, you may want to use that to display the same drop all over the screen with ease
for the ground contact well... i would make the rain disappear and activate the animation of the thin falling down (when Y =0 it changes animation)
for the sparks well i would randomize WHEN they are activated, and vary with 1-3 different intensity of spark... (remember, if one is active the other one can not be active.. ifelse HELPS!)
ho and you may want to adjust yang's shadow, pull it up a noth, copy from the enemy (or his brother :P) because the left foot seems not to be connected to the shadow B) (no need to pull it bach like the one of the enemy though)
keep working, you have a good potential B)

cant believe i didnt notice that - it wasnt the shadow that needed pulling up, the whole character needed to be pulled down 4 pixels.
as for the rain -
i might try my hand at ripping the rain direct from chankast coz i've got a habit of seeing things through wanting them spot on...
but - i've taken a break from that stage (already) coz im obsessed with finishing yang - it's only been 3 days and i've finished (on time + to the pixel) all the basic move states....guess itz movin along fast coz i've bin doin the easy stuff.
thanks out 2 all those helping - specfically yourself, kfm and necromancer (indirectly).

yea well, the tutorials are good to get you started.. as for me it *might* be helpful to know italian in order to understeand the tutorials :P
anyways i'm making a double res char creation tutorial in english... :P
(it's going to be don when my new DB project will be done (pessimistically *never* :P ))
btw, as soon as you get the basic of how to program an attack you are done, (but remember that a state it's not only an attack :P)
the hardest thing for a newbee may be the CMD, for the trigger condition have to be exact and listed correctly....

either way, to contribute my failed attempt, i've ripped the official third mix of yang's stage - better than the 2nd - which you may have caught in my beta which i included in the first post of this topic. so v.v.lucky whoever downloaded the first coz u have both mixes.
